BGM PRO Superstrong front brake cable in GREY. These have a strong Ø2,5mm inner cable diameter and a fix pressed cable holder on the outer shell. Both improve the braking process considerably. Innocenti already made a similar modification in May 1966 with the model update of the SX 200 series, which were equipped with a disc brake. Also the cable thickness was increased. The original cables measured by us were 6 mm outside and 1,5 mm inside.
CABLE DETAILS BGM PRO SUPERSTRONG
outer diameter sheath: Ø=7mm
diameter inner cable: Ø= 2,5mm
Outer diameter cable stop/bearing: 7,5 mm
PROBLEM
Ex works the original cable often has play in the abutment, which means it is not exactly angled to the cable stop.
It is only pulled into position by the increased tension during braking.
This eats up a good part of the braking performance and unnecessarily increases the working travel at the brake lever.
SOLUTION
The BGM PRO Superstrong outer casing has a fixed pressed-on abutment for the fork side.
The cable housing is thus already properly guided in the cable stop of the fork.
The working travel is shortened, the brake response and feedback are significantly improved.
NOTE
The outer casing fits most Series 3 model light switch housings. On very early Series 3 vehicles and Series 1 and 2 light switch housings, the outer diameter of the cable is too large to be accommodated by the light switch housing.
